Mumbai, Dec. 23 -- From Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) to Masaan (2015), Richa Chadha has proved her acting skills by playing strong characters on the big screen.
The actor was recently seen in AIB's video, which sheds light on the light-hearted stalking and harassment in Bollywood songs such as 'Apun bola' (Josh; 2000) and 'Gandi baat' (R... Rajkumar; 2015), among others.
Speaking of the same, Richa says that she wasn't nervous about featuring in the video, which takes a dig at her peers from the Hindi film industry.
"I'm also a part of the industry and I believe it's okay to ask questions. In fact, it's our right. We don't question things. We write our blogs and forget about them," she says.
But what would Richa say to those people who categorise such songs as a medium of entertainment? "By making something funny or comical, you are normalising it (stalking) and making people believe that it is okay," says Richa.
The actor adds that Indian cinema, nevertheless, is evolving, and goes on to talk about how better characters are being written for women today.
"There is a definite improvement. The writers are less judgemental about female characters. In Alia Bhatt's latest film, for example, she is shown to be someone who is confused and promiscuous. But, at no point are we judging her. We are trying to understand what she is going through," she says.
